Lieutenant-Governor Visits Eel Ground School


On Thursday April 19th, Hermenegilde Chiasson, the Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick visited the Eel Ground School. After touring the school, the Lieutenant-Governor was treated to a dress rehersal performance of 'After The Thunder: The Simon Bishop Story' by the grade 5 thru 8 students.

Show Me Your Math


The grade 2 class has entered the Show Me Your Math contest hosted by the Atlantic Canada's First Nation Help Desk. The purpose of the contest was to encourage students to see the math that exists all around them. With this in mind, students created pizza parlor posters that described pizzas using fractions.

The Eel Ground First Nation Drama Club Presents...


The Eel Ground First Nation Drama Club is currently working on a one-act play, 'After The Thunder: The Simon Bishop Story'. Nineteen students in grades 5 thru 8 are rehearsing three times a week after school. Several staff members are also involved.
The production will be staged in Restigouche, PQ on April 21st, at Miramichi Valley High School on April 26th, at the NB Drama Festival on May 1st and as part of the Thrive Conference on May 9th at James M. Hill High School. Other destinations include Tobique and Big Cove.
The play is about Simon Bishop who, after taking his own life, must free his spirit to move on. His life is revealed to him but he keeps his one deep secret to the end. Does he deserve a second chance?
