'Aknutmaqn' Mi'kmaq Storytelling Project

Eel Ground students from grade 3 to 8 have produce a web project focused on storytelling.

The central activity of the project was a series of classroom visits by Joseph Leonard Ward. Joseph shared stories with the students. The website contains a collection of videos that retell stories and legends using various media.

Hi my name is Kurt. I liked youre videos. I learned that you can use clay to make movies. I thought the legends were cool beliefs. Its a good way to remake the legends.

The only thing that I would fix is to wear only black clothes with the blacklighted movie.

Hi, my name is David.

I loved the videos, I loved evertyhing about your culture. I would have liked to see the actors wearing black pants in the blacklight video though.

Everything else was great!

Hi, my name is Dave.

The first video I watched was the buffalo legend and I thought the speech was too fast. I found the cartoon was very well done.

I found it was a great way to learn about your culture.
